NHS Directories help page

Thank you for using Lansdowne Publishing's new web site. We have designed it to make your life easier and our information more up-to-date.

1. Search

The first step is to find the organisation you want to amend. To do so, use the 'search' facility.
When searching, you may find it easier to type in just a part of the title of the organisation you are looking for. The web site will then list all of the organisations which contain that part in their name. So typing in 'Devon' will list all the organisations with 'Devon'. Now just click on the one you want, and the web site will display all the details of your chosen organisation.

2. Response

When you view the information, you will see two links to 'amend' or 'approve'. Lansdowne Publishing cannot publish any of the information you see unless it has been confirmed as accurate by someone with the authority to do so. So unfortunately, it isn't enough to check over the details, decide that they are correct and then leave. You must amend or approve.

3. Log-in

If you want to change or approve anything, you must 'log in'. When you log in you will be asked for your username and password (which was sent to you separately). If you don't have your username and password you won't be allowed to change anything.

4. Approve

If you want to 'approve' the details of your organisation (i.e. tell Lansdowne Publishing that all details are correct to the best of your knowledge) click on 'approve' to take you to the approval page. In order to accept the approval, you need to tell us who you are, so at the bottom of the approval page you must supply your name and email address and click 'submit approval'. The name and email address you supply will not be published but will be used only for confirming approvals and amendments. Your submission will then be sent to Lansdowne Publishing for processing. Lansdowne will check everything and then send you an email inviting you to sign off the agreed information for inclusion in the directory.

5. Amend

If you want to amend the details of your organisation, click on 'amend'. This will take you to another page where you can edit all the details we currently have for your organisation. Most of the details are displayed in a 'text box' with its own scroll bar, so please make sure you scroll all the way to the bottom and review all the content. Make additions and corrections as you see fit, add your name and email address and 'submit changes'. The name and email address you supply will not be published but will be used only for confirming approvals and amendments. Your submission will then be sent to Lansdowne Publishing for processing. Lansdowne will check everything and then send you an email inviting you to sign off the agreed information for inclusion in the directory.

6. Sign off

When you approve or amend your organisation details, Lansdowne Publishing will review the records and then send you an email (using the address you gave when submitting your approval or amendment). The email will direct you to a special page where you can sign off the agreed information for inclusion in the directory. If you suddenly realise that you need to make further changes, don't worry. You can still amend your record, and the system will notify Lansdowne. Use the 'Make further amends' button on the sign off page to change your details and submit the changes to Lansdowne Publishing as before.

7. Further changes

It is quite possible that changes will occur in your organisation after you have signed off the directory details. In this case you can still use the web site to update your information, using the system as you did previously. If you miss the publication date, then your new information won't get into the printed material, but it will still be available for review on the web site.
